The last bastion of one stop shops
Ledgwidge Bros on Bray Main st.
Take the time to really look at Bray's Victorian hidden shopping gems.
Much has been " Redeveloped " !
But in a class of its own is Ledwidges one stop shop, I think they built the shop around the counter in 1800. Used to have lots of goodies displayed on the pavement in front but the council in their " wisdom " banned this in the interest of pedestrian obstruction !! It allows the buggies to go faster.
The Cetic Tiger has given us a nice canvas replica of the right hand building, better than a hole in the street, I suppose.
SORRIO ! in JUNE 2015 IT CLOSED DOWN and now replaced by a ladies perfumery and beauty ?????? shop. Badly needed but I doubt if it will be there in a hundred years time.
The market dictates as always.
